Lucios has already began the construction of a factory for the production of aeronautics components in Évora, for the French company Mecachrome. This project is worth 7,2 million euros.
The investment of Mecachrome Aeronáutica in Évora is 30 million euros and was announced in August of last year, along with the expected creation of 350 jobs. The contract was awarded to the Portuguese company, at the end of last year, and the construction is currently in progress.
The factory will be located at Parque Aeronáutico de Évora, will have a gross area of 13.500 m2 and must be completed at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2016.
“This undertaking is based on the construction of a two-floor administrative block, located west from the industrial warehouse and a social block, east from the factory, where there will be the employees’ kitchen, cafeteria, locker and shower rooms, and also a training centre”, explained Lucios’ administrator, Luís Machado.
In addition to construction, the Portuguese company is also designing the project and selecting the most adequate architectonic solutions. For instance, ecological systems will be installed “with the ultimate goal of focusing on a sustainable development, using renewable energy and other natural resources”, the administrator stated.
The factory will have photovoltaic solar panels for electric energy production, low-current consumption and recharging electric car batteries, and also thermal solar panels for water heating. The low-energy consumption LED lighting will be favoured.
Lucios, whose offices locate in Portugal, France, Brazil and Mozambique, has reinforced its investment in industrial projects of this kind. Lucios has recently assumed to be working for companies like Unicef, Indasa and Generis.
Mecachrome is investing for the second time in a project of this kind, as the company is already operating an aeronautics production unit in Setúbal.
